Meet J. Rouse
J. Rouse is a vegan advocate who travels the US sharing the good news and health benefits of eating a plant-based diet with anyone who will listen. She is passionate about helping people transition to a plant-based diet, thereby reducing the inflammation which is at the root of most chronic medical conditions. Ms. Rouse shares her personal experience of how adopting a vegan way of eating has improved her own health.
She is the mother of two young adults. She is known for her lively and approachable demeanor. Her presentations offer a blend of motivation and education, making a difference one person at a time.

My journey to a healthier lifestyle started some years ago, when I started researching how meat is grown and processed. What I found out was so scary that I vowed that I wouldn't eat meat or dairy products anymore. I still loved seafood and wasn't ready to give it up yet. Then, moving toward my 40th birthday I got sick from eating fish at a local restaurant. That experience turned my stomach sour towards fish and seafood. On my 40th birthday I felt it was time for my drastic voluntary life change, and I made one of the biggest, and best decisions of my life. I ate only vegetables and fruits. After being a vegan for two weeks, I went to my doctor for a complete physical. All tests came back normal. Surprisingly, I had lost 18 pounds in just a little over two weeks.
I then cut out alcohol, and only ate greens for two weeks to clean my system out as much as I could so my body wouldn’t crave those old foods anymore. Then I started putting the best quality fruits and vegetables I could in my system along with plant-based meat which changed my life. Plant protein is a fairly new to the market meat substitute derived from plants. It has a meat like texture and a meat like taste. I’ve used it several times, in several ways.
If you do your own research you will find scientific evidence stating that many chronic diseases can be controlled, reduced, or even reversed by moving to a whole-food, plant-based diet. A healthy plant-based diet can also reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, certain types of cancer, and other major illnesses.
